Jammu, Sept 28: Authorities seem “least interested” in reducing the tuition fee by 30% in the private educational institutions as the file sent to the Law Department for legal opinion nearly two weeks ago by the School Education Department has not been returned till date.
Sources told Early Times that although the Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Asgar Samoon had announced that private schools owners will charge 30% less tuition fee from the students after concerted pressure mounted by the parent’s organisations but nothing of that sort has happened so far.

Srinagar, Sept 28: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has found that Jammu and Kashmir government has incurred an extra expenditure of over nine crore rupees on sugar procurement. Srinagar, Sept 28: Government departments including some of the corporations are retaining officials for more than two years at one position.
As per the transfer policy, minimum tenure of a government employee on a post should be two years and a maximum three years.
Sources said that though the General Administration Department is keeping track of overstaying employees and accordingly is transferring them, but influential overstaying, officers and officials have managed to keep themselves away from the transfer.
Sources revealed that a number of clerical staff employees, have been overstaying for the last several years in government departments.

New Delhi, Sept 28: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Monday said the Jammu and Kashmir administration has agreed in principle to amend rules for easy issuance of domicile certificates. This will particularly facilitate issuing domicile certificates to children, on production of a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of either of the parents, he said.
"After discussion with #JammuKashmir LG Sh Manoj Sinha & CS Sh Subrahmanium, the UT Govt has agreed in principle to amend/modify rules for ease in issue of #DomicileCertificate. Formal orders being issued soon," Singh, said in a tweet.

Jammu, Sept 28: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has pulled up the Jammu and Kashmir government for its failure to complete various projects under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during 2017-18.
