Terrorists in Kashmir using arms, ammunition abandoned by NATO forces in Afghanistan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: While security agencies have already cautioned that Pakistani authorities are desperately trying to push Afghan returned terrorists on the Indian side of the Line of Control, the outgoing Director General of CRPF Kuldeep Singh on Thursday said that the number of foreign terrorists has increased after Taliban controlled Afghanistan.
He, however, said that the overall strength of terrorists in the Valley is low and can be capped below 200.
DG CRPF has given this statement when reports are originating that terrorists in Kashmir Valley are using arms and ammunition abandoned by NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Recently, security forces observed that terrorists used American armour piercing bullets during a couple of encounters. These bullets were abandoned by NATO forces in Afghanistan.
A news agency quoting official sources reported that these bullets were successful in piercing through the bulletproof jackets worn by the troops during encounters.

Jammu, Sept 29: Even as two blasts rocked Udhampur within a gap of eight hours, the police on Thursday suspected the hand of Lashkar e Taiba, which may have used two similar explosives to carry out the terror strikes.
A senior official close to the investigations told the Early Times that initial inquiry as conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army into the twin incidents suggest that “similar explosives with digital timer devices” were used to carry out the explosions.
He said the nature of the blast suggests that RDX was used to carry out the attacks.

Jammu, Sep 29: Security forces accompanied by sniffer dogs carried out an extensive search of the inter-state bus terminal here after suspected terrorists triggered a blast in a parked bus in Udhampur district early Thursday, officials said.
A high alert has been sounded in the Jammu region after the blast. Earlier, a similar explosion took place in Udhampur but there was no casualty, police said.
Loudspeaker-fitted police vehicles were make announcements in Katra and Ramnagar towns asking pilgrims, locals and commuters to keep an eye on suspected objects and persons.

New Delhi, Sept 29: In a significant ruling on reproductive rights of women, the Supreme Court held on Thursday that all women are entitled to safe and legal abortion till 24 weeks of pregnancy under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, and making any distinction on the basis of their marital status is "constitutionally unsustainable".
The top court also said that the meaning of offence of rape must include marital rape for the purpose of the MTP Act.
