Jammu, Sept 7: Even as tender jointly issued by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for constructing parking place at Jammu’s historic Panjbakhtar temple has been withdrawn after peoples’ outcry but demand for exposing private players to whom some BJP leaders wanted to give undue benefit is raising momentum. Credible sources said the biggest parking spot in the premises of the Panjbakhtar temple was not proposed to ease traffic problems in Jammu city but BJP leaders were allegedly hand-in-glove with some private players from outside the State to whom they wanted to give benefits at the cost of the religious sentiments of the people. Jammu, Sept 7: After remaining inactive for more than one year, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has finally announced to restart the routine examination process from September 21.

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Tightening further its net against the corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered 17 cases in Kashmir for the year 2020.
The then Governor Satya Pal Malik-led administration in 2018 set up the ACB for tackling increasing corruption in Jammu and Kashmir.
The ACB that has been given more teeth by the government has also taken on highly influential people since its inception.
As per the official details accessed, the ACB has registered 17 cases for the last nine months in Kashmir.

Srinagar, Sept 7: The government on Monday deferred by three more months the elections to the post of Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation in wake of an amendment made to the rules today itself.
The post of Mayor SMC fell vacant on June 16 and was to be filled up within a period of one month in terms of Section 36 of the Jammu & Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act, 2000. However, on July 15 the election was deferred till September 15 in terms of the amendment made by the government in the rules, citing the health pandemic due to COVID-19.

UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: Shocking but it’s true that many casual workers in Power Development Department (PDD) have lost their lives while several others lost their limbs while performing their duties but the department has never cared for their pains and always avoided them.
