Killed terrorists were trying to revive Al-Qaeda’s offshoot | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: Killed in a “chance encounter” in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, two terrorists of the Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) were planning to strengthen Al-Qaeda’s offshoot in Jammu and Kashmir.
By luring innocent youth, the eliminated terrorists were working to set up terror modules in different areas of Kashmir Valley in general and South Kashmir in particular.
Sources said that material recovered from the possession of the eliminated terrorists revealed that terror mentors sitting across the border are trying to revive Al-Qaeda’s offshoot in the Valley.
Notable two terrorists of the AGuM terror outfit were killed in a brief chance encounter at Thajiwara Bijbehara area of Anantnag district on Wednesday evening.
The killed terrorists were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Kumar alias Faheem Kumar son of Mohammad Ramzan Kumar and Owais Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, both residents of Waghama Bijbehara who were affiliated with the AGuH group.

AC approves amnesty scheme for domestic power consumers | Payment of only principal amount in 12 installments, defaulters to face legal action | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 8: The Administrative Council (AC) which met here under the chairmanship of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, approved the amnesty scheme for domestic power consumers in the UT.
Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K and Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor attended the meeting.
The decision is going to benefit more than 5.50 lakh domestic consumers by waiving off an amount of Rs. 937.34 crore, accumulated as surcharge or interest, on account of non-payment of timely dues.

New Delhi, Sept 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled a 28-ft-tall statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate.
The statue is part of the Centre's Rs 13,450-crore Central Vista project, which will have a new Parliament building, new office and residences for the prime minister and vice-president and new ministry buildings. The North and South Blocks, the secretariat buildings flanking Rashtrapati Bhavan, will be converted into museums.

Jammu, Sept 8: Initiate a big step to ease tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the cold desert of Ladakh, India and China have started disengagement of troops from PP-15.
The Ministry of Defence on Thursday informed that Indian and Chinese troops have started to disengage from the Gogra-Hot Springs PP-15 friction point in Eastern Ladakh after reaching a consensus in the 16th round of military talks.

NEW DELHI, Sept 8: The Centre on Thursday said that about 57,000 cattle have died so far due to lumpy skin disease across various parts of the country and asked affected States to boost the vaccination process to control the disease.

New Delhi, Sept 8: Rajasthan's Tanishka bagged the top rank in medical entrance exam NEET, the results of which were declared on Wednesday by the National Testing Agency.
Delhi's Vatsa Ashish Batra and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka bagged the second and third positions respectively.
The maximum number of candidates who qualified the exam are from Uttar Pradesh (1.17 lakh), followed by Maharashtra (1.13 lakh) and Rajasthan (82,548).
