Early Times Report Kargil, Aug 18: An Ex servicemen rally was organised by Army at Kargil on 16 - 17 August in which over 200 ESM and four Veer Naris / Matas from entire Kargil district participated. According to press release, the rally was attended by civilian and military officials from the various departments which deal with the resolution of grievances and pending issues for the Ex servicemen. General Officer Commanding of the Mountain Division was the Chief Guest at the event. The rally was organised in an elaborate manner after due consideration was accorded to the requirements of the Ex Servicemen, Veer Naris / Matas. The various facilities extended to the veterans included representation in the form of officials from the various departments at Leh such as the Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Record Offices of the the Ladakh Scouts and Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centres, Defence Pension Disbursement Organisation & the Ex Servicemen Central Health Scheme. The Army also set up a medical camp and extended the expertise of the surgical, orthopedic, gynecologist, dental and ENT specialists over the two days of the rally. The Ex Servicemen were also familiarized with the various programme under Operation Sadbhavana and the Army Welfare Education Scheme. |
