Jammu, Jan 13: A delegation of Private Schools Association (PSA) led by Prof. J. L. Kotwal Chairman PSA and its President Kamal Gupta called on the Secretary cum Commissioner, Education Department, Civil Secretariat, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The members of the association apprised about various problems being faced by the private schools in the entire state. Prof J.L.Kotwal said to the Secretary cum Commissioner that the recent Education policy of state government has created hurdles & bottlenecks in the smooth functioning of all private schools which are functioning more than 20 years. He added that the Association has been pursuing its problems through negotiations as well as through court for simple & single window clearance system for Affiliation / Recognition but more complicated & time consuming system is enforced while granting Recognition on the basis of affiliation for a stipulated period. Kamal Gupta President PSA said to the commissioner that In certain cases to increase the revenue of JKBOSE, Board Authorities have imposed a penalty of Rs. 10000/- to Rs. 20000/- to the private schools while granting Affiliation / Recognition for a period of 1year to 3years. M.M. Joshi General Secretary PSA demanded a concrete decision of the report submitted to Tushar K Sharma (IAS) Director School Education, Chairman of examining committee, on February 15.2014 by the committee members nominated by the Govt. of J&K to look into the grievances of the Private schools. The prominent members of the delegation included Vaneet Gupta, Rajiv Luthra, R.Manhas, G.S. Katal, Ajay Singh, Kishori Lal Parihar,Pardeep Singh, Sameer Saproo, Surjeet Singh Jamwal, Sanjeev Luthra.
