Jammu, Jan 13:Rashtriya Rifles organised a civil military coordinating conference at Chanderkot to coordinate the response of Army and civil agencies during disaster and natural calamity. The disaster management exercise code named 'Hiffazat-E-Awam' will be conducted by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Banihal in coordination with civil administration on 13 and 14 January 15. According to press release the exercise will include response of various civil government agencies and Army to meet various eventualities during disaster and natural calamity. The civil administration and police appreciated the efforts of Army especially during Op Megh Rahat and rescue efforts during recent road accidents on NH 44. They also praised the efforts of Army in providing trained divers during rescue operations in Chenab River. The coordinating conference was attended by Additional SP, Ramban Arun Gupta, Additional Commissioner Revenue, Ramban, Deputy Commandant 48 SSB, Banihal, Farooqh, Tehsildar, Banihal, JS Bali, Deputy SP, Traffic Ramban, AGM, IRCON and Navyuga infrastructure companies. The conference was presided over by Sector Commander and all issues were coordinated for smooth conduct of exercise. |
