JAMMU, Jan 13: Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Home, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, today and briefed him about the law and order situation in the State.
The Governor has asked the Home Secretary to hold urgent consultations with the Deputy Commissioners and responsible civil society representatives of the five border districts and also after consulting the BSF and Army, prepare well considered proposals to provide relief to the people residing in the border villages who have been put to great inconvenience by the repeated instances of heavy mortar shelling from across the Line of Control.
The Raj Bhavan spokesman disclosed that the Governor has also fixed a meeting to discuss the important issues with the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, Divisional Commissioner and representatives of the BSF and Army early next week. |
