SDM Vijaypur visits Purmandal, interacts with locals 2/11/2015 12:28:36 AM Early Times Report Vijaypur, Feb 10: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Vijaypur Rajneesh Gupta today visited the historic village Purmandal and interacted with the local to take stock of various situations including basic issues of the locals. A series of local delegations called on the visiting official and apprised him about their issues who apprised SDM with problems being faced by them. During the interaction a group of people objected 'cremation of bodies in front of Shiv Mandir Purmandal alleging the practice is polluting the environment and also is taking toll of tourists. They requested SDM Vijaypur to shift the cremation to another place in Devika River. However the same was objected by the other group who opposed this saying that performing last rites at this place is a routine practice since time immemorial time and people hold faith in this old time practice. SDM Vijaypurlistened both the groups with patience and said demand shall be resolved amicably keeping the sentiment of people as well as pollution point of view.
