Kishtwar-Sinthan road to be made open next month: Saroori

Kishtwar, May 6: The National highway Kishtwar-Sinthan will be made open next month for the traffic, this was informed by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, GM Saroori today while addressing a public meetings here at Chatroo and Chingam in district Kishtwar. During the second day tour to Sub-Division Chatroo people of Chatroo gave warm reception and thanked Vice President J&K PCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, who has been pivotal in pushing the Singhpora-Vailoo tunnel, Kishtwar-Sinthan Tourism Project, Kishtwar-Sinthan project through and other projects. Saroori said after opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road it will make shortest road link connectivity between the people of twin hilly and far-flung districts of Doda and Kishtwar with summer capital Srinagar. He said that since Doda-Batote road has been declared unsafe for vehicular movements after a several stretches washed away near Assar, Ragi Nalla, daily landslides and laid stress to connect both Doda and Kishtwar district with the rest of the world by way of opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road. "It is the need of the hour that this route connecting Doda and Kisthwar with the rest of the world will be opened next month and road till Aloo farm will be opened on 9th of May," he said. Congress leader said that with the opening of this road, there will be a huge flow of local as well as foreign tourists to both these districts as both these routes are attractive for tourists. "We can give boost to the tourism pilgrimage also as numbers of religious places of different religions are located in these two districts as number of Pilgrims could not visit those religious places due to poor connectivity," he added.
He was accompanied Prominent among those Tehsildar Chatroo Sheetal Kumar, Executive Engineer R&B HL Bhagat, AEE PMGSY Mushtaq Ahmed, AEE PDD Sudhir Sharma and other officials of various departments.
