| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, two held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6: Police today claimed to have foiled bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of two persons while recovered twenty bovine animals here on Wednesday. The two accused have been identified namely as Javed Ahmed s/o Ghulam Nabi of Rajpura Mandi Poonch and Rajkumar s/o Surum Chand of Gole Mela Udhampur. Police sources said, "During the intervening night of 05/06 Jhajjar Kotli Police intercepted a truck and rescued 20 bovines from the possession of two occupants who failed to procure required document for transportation of animals from one district to another.' "Both the accused were arrested and seized the truck bearing regd no: JK02AL/7095, police sources said. Meanwhile a case against FIR No. 44/2015 u/s 188/RPC 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Jhajjar Kotli in this connection. "The arrest was made by SHO Jhajjar Kotli SI Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and SP Shiv Kumar Chouhan Incharge SP (Rural) and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand," police sources added.
