DIG Traffic flags off mini bus service on new routes | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: In view of persistent demand put forth by the public of Gujjar Nagar, Qassim Nagar and adjoining areas, the Regional Transport Office Jammu today launched the mini bus service on few new routes. The mini bus service on new routes was introduced on the directions of Transport Minister Abdul Gani Kohli. It was flagged off by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Jammu Ashkoor Wani from Ambphalla Chowk for as many as 5 new routes of Jammu city. These services shall operate on the route from Ambphalla to Bhatindi, Janipur to Channi Himmat, Ambphalla to Sunjwan via Indira Chowk, Viveknanda Chowk and Gujjar Nagar bridge to Narwal, Bhatindi, Sunjwan and Channi Himmat. Besides this, 10 additional services from Ambphalla to Chowadhi via MAM College and Bus Stand to Nagrota via Ambphalla and Panjtirthi were also added to the already existing routes to cater to the requirement of the general public especially the students and the old-age persons. Prior to this there was no services to these above mentioned routes via Gujjar Nagar bridge as a result of which the people of the areas were forced to travel on foot or through private means / Auto Rickshaws for their movement to Narwal, Channi and Bhatindi areas. With the start of these new mini bus services on the new routes, the people of these areas will be benefitted. On the occasion, RTO Jammu AK Khajuria, SSP Traffic Jammu Mohan Lal, BJP youth leader Wasim Kohli, besides ARTOs Kuldeep Singh, Swaran Singh and Punica along with Chairman Mini Bus Worker Union Anil Chopra, President Mini Bus Union Vijay Sharma were also present.
