Bovine smuggling foiled, one held | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, May 6: Police today claimed to have arrested a person during a Naka checking in Ramban and recovered four bovines from his possession. "Acting on specific input, the police team of police station Banihal, under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Randeep Kumar today conducted a raid at Chamalwas - Neel route near Chaknarwah of Ramban district, police sources said. They said, "The police team intercepted a load carrier bearing regd no: JK19 -2629 in which four animals were illegal being transported." "The accused who failed to procure requisite document of transportation was arrested on the spot. "The accused has been identified namely as Shabir Ahmed Sohil of Krachihall Neel, police sources said. The police spokesperson claimed that the bovines were smuggled illegally towards Shawanwas to Anantnag. The police have rescued all the bovines and a case FIR No. 54/2015 u/s 188 RPC/3 PC Act stands registered at P/S Banihal. |
