Haq inaugurates IWMP water supply tanks at Mughama, Nengerpora | | | Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, May 6: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Abdul Haq today inaugurated two overhead drinking water storage and supply tanks at Mughama Kunzar and Nengerpora in Baramulla district. The tanks have been constructed at a cost of Rs 11.08 lakh and Rs 10.05 lakh respectively under Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) of Rural Development Department which will cater to the needs of about 300 families of the area. MLA, Tangmarg, Mohammad Abbas Wani, besides Director Rural Development Department, Kashmir Tasaduq Jeelani and other concerned officers and public representatives were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will ensure that people are provided all basic amenities at their doorstep. He hoped that by commissioning these two overhead drinking water storage and supply tanks people of the area will get potable drinking water round the clock and was a long pending demand of the people which has been fulfilled. The Minister also interacted with the people of the area who expressed satisfaction over the commissioning of these tanks and said that they used to travel long distances for want of potable drinking water. |
