| Opposition stages walk out after Speaker reads out NDA Govt achievements | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: The united opposition including Congress, National Conference and Independent MLAs today on the last day of State Legislative Assembly's Budget Session staged a walk out minutes before the Speaker adjourned the assembly sine die.
As soon as the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti finished her speech, the Speaker in his concluding remarks read out some achievements of the Modi led NDA government which draws sharp criticism from the opposition members.
CPI (M) MLA from Kulgam stood up and confronted the Speaker that he is the custodian of the House and not the spokesman of NDA government that he (Speaker) is highlighting their achievements inside JK Assembly. He requested the Speaker not to do these things that can lower the prestige of the post of Speaker.
Congress MLA from Leh also objected to the Speaker followed which the entire opposition walked out of the House. |
