Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Feb 12: Two persons, who were killed in a road mishap at Sopore area of this north Kashmir district early Monday, turned out to be militants.
A local news agency while quoting SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh, said that the two motor bike riders died in a mishap today.
The police official said that the duo was shifted to nearby hospital and later removed to Srinagar hospital for treatment where both of them succumbed.
"One among the two killed persons is a local from Brath Sopore namely Owais Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Mir while the identity of another is being ascertained," said SSP.
However sources told early times over the phone that Owais Mir was missing from past couple of days and today it came to fore that he had joined militant ranks.
It is believed that another person who also died in the same accident is a foreign militant, and authorities are investigating into the matter, said sources.
Sources said that the pillion of these two persons skidded off from the road near Warpora area of Sopore town and police was informed about the accident, after which these injured persons turned out to be the militants, about which they were not aware.
