| LA pays tributes to Sunjwan terror attack martyrs | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
JAMMU, Feb 12: The State Legislative Assembly (LA) today paid rich tributes to the army personnel and a civilian martyred in Jammu's Sunjwan terror attack which entered 3rd day today.
As soon as the LA resumed the proceedings today on its last day of the ongoing budget session, the NC legislators from Khanyar and Kangan stood up and demanded the statement from the government over the unfortunate terror attack.
NC MLA from Nagrota also stood up and condemned the terror attack. MLA Nagrota requested the House to observe two minutes silence to pay tributes to the army personnel and a civilian who achieved martyrdom in the line of the duty following which the entire House observed the silence to pay homage to the departed soul and to express grief over loss of lives in the terror attack.
Later, senior PDP leader and Parliamentary Affairs Minister read out the detailed statement about the Sunjwan terror attack.
He said that five army personnel besides a civilian were martyred in this tragic terror attack beside about a dozen people including women, children and army personnel were injured. He further informed the House that three terrorists were eliminated in the operation, which was still on when the last reports came in. |
