People face inconvenience as road sinks in Ramban | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Feb 20: The adjoining road of National Highway connected to District Administrative Complex Ramban sank due to unplanned construction work of four laning work by GAMMON Company on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Ironically the cracks increased day after day on the Maitra road connected to other part of the district and the company today completely closed the road for all type of commuters to avoid any mishap. People especially patients, old persons and women faced inconvenience to cross the huge distance by-foot. It is pertinent to mention here that on 9th of February people of Ramban held a strong protest demonstration against the said private construction company. And after the intervention of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai who assured the huge gathering of protestors that within a time period of 10 days the road will be make feasible at least for auto rikshaw and bikes. But after the completing 12 days the company completely closed the road for the people. People said that the construction company is working under the nose of district administration and the district administration became mute spectator which is not tolerated further. The district administration should take some concrete steps so that people of Ramban especially people coming from other part of the district will not face further inconvenience due to the negligent attitude of the construction company. Furthermore the Jammu and Kashmir National Highway falling under Ramban town also under constant threat due to the construction of pillers for flyover on Maitra Road. |
