Udhampur, Mar 9: The residential quarters allotted to the Power Development Department (PDD) or power houses employees in Ladan power house area about 4 km from the Jekhani Chowk Udhampur are rented out by these employees after they constructed their own houses or shifted to other accommodation.
The vacant quarters that were not allotted to anyone are still lying abandoned and have developed cracks due lack of proper maintenance by the concerned authorities.
The premises around these quarters present a shabby look with weeds having grown all around.
Those living in these quarters apprehend snake bites and live in continuous fear, said an Rahul jandial advocate
Sohan Lal , a senior citizen from the area said offices operating from rented accommodation should shift here to save some money and the structures as well. |
