VC JDA reviews pace of developmental works | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 9: In order to gear up the working of different wings of JDA, the Vice Chairman took the review of all development works. The works related to ongoing projects and Land Management. In the meeting, it was exhorted upon the officers to work with zeal and Enthusiasm so that the physical and financial targets are achieved by the end of this month. The Vice Chairman JDA Rajesh Shavan, KAS said that the JDA will identify innovative projects of development having recreational value so that the citizens feel comfortable in and around the city. He directed the Superintending Engineer JDA to meet quality and control while executing the projects and instructed for getting third party monitoring. The Director Land Management JDA Davinder Singh Katoch, KAS gave a brief presentation of the progress of Revenue wing pertaining to identification and demarcation of JDA lands. He however informed that in absence of police protection, he is facing difficulties to confront the land mafias and demanded more deployment of police with Khilafwarzi wing. It is pertinent to mention that JDA is retrieving lands from the encroachers as per the orders of High Court but still the encroachers try to sabotage the exercise on one or the other pretext. In the meanwhile the JDA in a major drive also removed many khokhas, reharies and faries from the footpath at Mangal Market and at Rail Head Complex. The footpath was encroached by the shopkeepers. The Khilafwarzi team headed by the Vice Chairman JDA and Director Land Management launched the crackdown and seized all material which was illegal stocked by the shopkeepers a footpath and road. The Vice Chairman JDA said that JDA will conduct such drives in future to clear the paths and roads. He said that no encroachment of land and pathway shall be allowed in any manner. He condemned the false propaganda of some elements against JDA for having sealed the temple at Canal Bank. It was clarified that it is an unauthorised construction on footpaths and the matter has been referred to the District Magistrate for removal in view of Supreme Court order. |
