Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 4: With the arrest of two accused, Gandhi Nagar police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a blind murder case after over 2 years. Police spokesman said that on July 22, 2015, information was received by Gandhi Nagar Police Station through Police Control Room (PCR) that one Harbans Lal son of Kirpa Ram of Bannota, RS Pura who was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu in an injured condition succumbed to his injuries. The spokesman said that since the person died in suspicious circumstances, inquest proceedings under section 174 of CrPc were initiated at Gandhi Nagar Police Station. He said that during investigation, it came to fore that the deceased was an employee of the Horticulture Department posted at Gole Market Park in Gandhi Nagar area. On recording the statement of the son of the deceased, the police spokesman said that Gandhi Nagar Police came to know that on the intervening night of July 19 and July 20, two unidentified persons came to the park and demanded a match stick from the deceased. "When the deceased denied giving the match stick, the duo started beating the deceased with blows and fists, thus leaving him in a pool of blood," the police spokesman said quoting the inquiry report of Gandhi Nagar Police Station. Spokesman further said that post-mortem report of the deceased had confirmed that he died due to severe head injury and fracturing of rib bones. "On the basis of finding of the post-mortem report, spokesman said an FIR 75/2018 under sections 302/452/34 RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and a team of officers led by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia was constituted to trace the accused. The team rounded up various locations and arrested two persons, Ajay Kumar and Noni Dass on April 4 this year. On their sustained questioning, the police spokesman said, confessed to their involvement in the murder of the deceased, Harbans Lal, thus the blind murder case solved after over two years. |
