| MPEJ demands separate Chairman, Secretary of JK BOSE for Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 4: The Members of Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice have appealed the Chief Minister and Education Minister for provision of two Chairmen and two Secretaries of the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education. They said that the Chairman and Secretary of the state Board of School Education remain in one Division for six months and the other Division suffers as there are certain powers which the Joint Secretary does not have.
During the summer the needy have to go from Jammu to Srinagar and during winter from Srinagar to Jammu, which causes them not only the loss of precious time but also money. Since the inception of one post of Chairman and one post of Secretary were created, the number of candidates appearing in the examinations has increased five times.
Therefore creation of additional two posts of chairman and Secretary has become absolutely necessary. This will also help to save the un-necessary expenditure on Darbar move which otherwise could be invested on other curriculum development activities. There are two separate regional Directorates of School Education, two separate regional universities and even two separate regional Central Universities. The members also demanded implementation of 1998 Singhal Committee report which had recommended that selection list of Jammu as well as Kashmir provinces be prepared separately. The seats in Jammu colleges should be allotted to candidates from Jammu division and those in Kashmir colleges from the Kashmir division by their respective Universities and Professional colleges and seats for Ladakh region should be reserved separately in both the Universities. |
