Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 20: A fresh avalanche warning has been issued for hilly and avalanche prone areas in the Jammu and Kashmir following fresh snowfall and heavy rains during the past few days, an official spokesman said hereFriday evening. He said the SASE has issued low danger avalanche warning of Level 2 on Friday evening for next 24 hours for Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora in north Kashmir and Kargil in Ladakh. Low danger warning of Level 1 has also been issued for Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur in Jammu regioin. Besides similar warning has been issued for Anantnag. Kulgam, Budgam and Ganderbal in Kashmir and Leh in Ladakh region, he said. Accordingly, all concerned Deputy Commissioners have been asked to take precautionary measures in their respective districts and advise people not to venture in avalanche prone areas during the aforementioned period and monitor the situation regularly to avert any untoward incident. |
