GHSS Nowabad celebrates Red Cross day

Jammu, May 8: Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Nowabad celebrated World Red Cross Day and felicitation of meritorious students of class 10th and 12th session 2017-18.
The occasion was graced by Joint Director School Educarion Deptt, S. Charandeep Singh, Dr T.R Raina Ex H.O.D Blood Bank GMC Jammu was special guest.
Other dignitaries included Dr Salim Khan Health Officer JMC, Ayodhya Kumar and other members of SMDC, parents of meritorious students and members of cluster Schools. Principal of the institution Smt Anita Zutshi presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the institution in academic and co-curricular activities.
Dr T.R Raina spoke about the need of good health. He implored upon the urgency of healthy mind set in good health-keeping. Prizes were distributed among winners of Symposium and Paper-Reading contest that were the activites related to the celebration of World Red Cross Day. Prizes were also given to the distinction holders of class 10th and 12th Spl, prizes were given to Riya Kumari of class 12th who had second 2nd position in Arts and Suneha Sharma of class 10th who 90% 10CGPA. The programme marked a vibrant cultural presentation by the students of the school. The programme was anchored by Mrs Anjana Khajuria and co-ordinated by Promila Koul who also presented vote of thanks.
