IFJP holds discussion on RTI Act

Jammu, May 8: The Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP) discussed thread bare the provisions of Right to Information Act (RTI) and Rules.
The meeting was Chaired by IFJP Chairman, B.S Jamwal former Deputy Commissioner. It was resolved that the response of the departments for supply of requisite information is by and large not encouraging in many cases the specific information sought is deviated which defeats the spirit of the legislation.
To obtain the smooth in flow of requisite information in time bound manner with persuasive efforts, the IFJP constituted a RTI Committee for seeking the information smoothly and uninterruptedly in a transparent manner.
B.C Raina, Trade Union Activist was unanimously elected as Chairman, Er. Mahesh Kumar Sharma as General Secretary and Sourabh Dogra law learner as Coordinator.
It was also decided in the meeting that the information seekers from the public may be requested that if they choose so, can also seek assistance of the "Interaction Forum RTI Committee" at email: [email protected] Tele : 9858178757, 9596688872, 9569731879 and it shall be functioning at its HQ 116, Sarwal Chowk Jammu from 6 to 8 PM on Mondays and Fridays.
