| Leopard caught in Ramban | | |

RAMBAN June 13: A leopard has been caught at Govindpura, Maitra of district Ramban after sparking a frantic 2-hour search by the team of Wildlife Protection Department and police. The big cat was spotted near common path of Govindpura village by some locals and they immediately informed Tehsildar Ramban, Parmod Kumar. Tehsildar rush to the spot alongwith the team of Wildlife Protection Department and police and started search operation.
"The wildlife team was successful to capture leopard through net without tranquillise after capturing leopard officials of department found leopard dead," said Forester Wildlife Protection Department Ramban, Mohd. Jabbar Katoch and also informed that it was 8 years old and sick. SHO Ramban Ajay Bhat said that "No one was injured in the operation and area has been observed safe." After post-mortem body of leopard was cremated by the officials. |
