JU authorities cut eucalyptus trees grown in sports ground | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 9: In contemporary times when government and various Non Government Organizations (NGOs) and even various educational institutions stress need for plantation drives to protect the climate, a premier educational institution, the University of Jammu is ruthlessly removing eucalyptus trees from a sports ground in the varsity. According to reports, the authorities of Jammu University go for cutting of various eucalyptus trees which were grown in the sports ground of the campus. "The trees grown in the sports ground of the campus used to give shadow during hot summers and humid temperature, but the authorities get them cut ", said a student pleading anonymity. Terming the Vice Chancellor of the Varsity-RD Sharma as dictator of the campus who always pursues anti student policies ordered cutting of various eucalyptus trees without planting other trees. Jammu University New Campus at Bahu Wali Rakh spread with an area of about 118.70 acres. |
