| VOK books municipal officers in backdoor appointments case | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 30: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act on outcome of a verification Conducted into the allegations that that the then Executive Officer Municipal Committee Shopian in furtherance of criminal conspiracy hatched with other officials of Municipal Committee Shopian in connivance with the accused beneficiaries have illegally/fraudulently, without any competence, appointed/engaged 04 non deserving, blue eyed persons in Municipal Committee Shopian in the year 2009 & 2010.
The then President Municipal Committee Shopian namely Majid Hassan Khan S/o Sh. Ghulam Hassan Khan R/o Hergam Shopian and the then Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Shopian Mohamed Ashraf Pandith (now expired) S/o Abdul Aziz Pandith R/o Bemina Srinagar in utter disregarded to the standing rules/notifications/SROs of Govt. and without any competence issued appointment orders in favour of 04 blue eyed persons namely Abdul Majeed Bhat s/o late Sonaullah Bhat r/o Batwina Lar Gandarbal as Electrician; Umaya Jahangir Khan D/O Jahangir Ahmad Khan R/o Shopian as Death & Birth Assistant; Javed Ahmad Wani S/O Ab Gani Wani R/o Bongam Shopian as Khilafwarzi Helper and Shariq Ahmad Sofi S/O Bashir Ahmad Sofi R/o Shopian as Khilafwarzi Helper.
Accordingly a Case FIR No. 28/2018 under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C. Act, Svt; 2006 and Section 120-B RPC was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir against accused persons. The investigation of the case has geared up accordingly. |
