Udhampur, July 30: In continuation to ongoing drive against drugs, Udhampur police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 6 grams of heroin (chitta) from his possession at Sattani, Dhar Road, Udhampur. Police spokesman said that acting on specific information, a party of Udhampur police station led by SI Jaswinder Singh in-charge police post Roundomail under the supervision of Kulbir Handa-DySP HQ raised a naka at Dhar Road for checking of vehicles. "During naka checking, police party intercepted one suspect and upon his search 06 gms of heroin (chitta) was recovered from the accused namely Akhilesh Sharma alias Leshi of Ward No. 02, Indra Nagar, Udhampur", said spokesman adding the accused was arrested while the consignment was seized. In this connection, a case under FIR no. 377/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and further investigation of the case is going on. |
