Public grievance cells at Srinagar, Jammu witness huge rush of people | 400 delegations call on Advisor Vyas | | Early Times Report
SRINGAR, July 30: After the imposition of Governor's rule the public grievance cells at Srinagar and Jammu are witnessing heavy rush of the people. These people come from different parts of the state for redressal of issues and complaints with regard to poor delivery system. Speaking exclusively to Early Times, B B Vyas, Advisor to Governor N N Vohra said that in order to reach out to the people at door step, the present dispensation in coming days will visit the various districts of the state to listen to the public grievances. He said that Governor has already visited some districts outside the capital cities and held detail reviews of various ongoing developmental programs. He said that he along with Advisor Khurshid Ganie are attending the grievance cells on weekly basis added that thousands of people are attending these camps. "Under the governor rule the first priority of the administration is to listen to the public issues and problems so that an appropriate solutions of the same could be find" said Vyas adding that on Monday he attended the grievance cell at Srinagar and on Friday at Jammu and similarly Advisor Ganie also attended the camps at Jammu and Srinagar. He said that there are complaints with regard to RDD department, roads, town area problems, drainage issue, electric poles, wires, power distribution issues, Water crises, employees issues with regarding to DPCs, SROs are the major issues about which people generally complaints adding that all this will not only help us to address the public grievances, but also help the government in bring the changes in policy related matters. He said that their priority will be to reach to the maximum number of people living in far flung areas of the state. Meanwhile, more than 400 delegations and 60 individuals apprised the advisor with their issues and sought the intervention of the government in ensuring redressal of them on a time-bound manner. Trade bodies including PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir chapter, Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation and Kashmir Youth Entrepreneurs Federation raised various issues related to payment of power tariffs, industry registration, exemption of GST in certain sectors, reimbursement on the pattern of northeast industry policy package of GOI, flood rehabilitation of traders, commercial taxes, extending more sectors under various incentive through different schemes. Jammu & Kashmir Central Trade Union Coordination Committee sought the implementation of SRO 520 so that the services of various employees of different categories are regularized. They also raised several issues like the settlement of pay anomalies of various cadres. A group of artisans who were affected due to 2014 flood sought relief for their damages and called for adopting a holistic approach for the solution of their cases. A delegation of disaster management degree holders sought introduction of the subject in school and college curriculum. PSC Lecturers Association sought to encompass their services under the Assured the Career Progression (ACP) scheme. Jammu Kashmir State Road Transport Employees Association sought early redressal of their grievances like pension etc. A deputation of Jammu Kashmir diploma association working in PDD raised several issues related to their service matters and sought early redressal of issues. |
