| SVO books police constable on corruption charges | | |

Poonch, Aug 13: Vigilance Organization registered a formal case against Constable Nazir Hussain Shah No.601/J working in J&K Police and then posted at Police Station Mandi in Poonch District as Moharir constable vide FIR No. 27/2018 U/S 5 (1) (d), read with section 4-A of P.C. Act Svt. 2006 punishable u/s 5 (2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act on 13/08/2018.
The instant case has been registered on the basis of complaint lodged by one Mohd. Aslam son of Noor Mohd resident of Sathra Tehsil Mandi District Poonch before the State Vigilance Commission J&K alleging therein that Constable Nazir Hussain Shah then working as Moharir Constable in Police Station Mandi of Poonch District had demanded and accepted Rs.75,000/- from the complainant in lieu of getting his son recruited as constable in Police Department.
The enquiry conducted reveals that said constable Nazir Hussain Shah had taken bribe amount of Rs.75,000/- from the complainant on the pretext of getting his son appointed in the Police Department. On the prima facie establishment of the allegations, formal case has been registered against above mentioned accused in Police Station, VOJ and investigations started. |
