Jammu, Aug 13: A meeting of Joint Action Commission for the creation of J&K State Minority Commission was convened at Brahman Sabha, Parade, Jammu under the Chairmanship of Ved Prakash Sharma. It is pertinent to mention that JAC will fight on the streets for the grant of Minority Status to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Jains in J&K state. Despite the passage of judgment by the Supreme Court in PIL titled Ankur Sharma V. Union of India and Ors. the state of J&K has till date not identified and notified minorities in J&K. Consequentially, Majority community of the state has been illegally getting all benefits meant for the minorities. With a goal of creating a mass movement to attain the said objective, social organisations of Jammu province which involved all Hindu caste Sabhas today met at Mahajan Sabha to discuss the future strategy. Presidents of all Sabhas were present. Advocate Ankur Sharma who had filed the petition in Supreme Court was also present. All social organisations resolved to fight for the grant of Minority Status to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Jains in J&K and creation of J&K State Minority Commission.
