Loading LPG cylinders on passenger vehicles | Route permits of erring vehicles to be cancelled | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 14 : Reacting to the news item published by ET regarding the loading of LPG cylinders on passenger vehicle putting the lives of common and innocent people at risk, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar Abhey Indu Sharma today issued the Notice for Suspension/ Cancellation of Route Permit to the erring owner of the vehicle identified by the transport department as Abdul Rashid Ahanger S/O Ghulam Ali Ahanger R/O Dool Kishtwar. As per the details available with ET, ARTO Kishtwar vide letter No: ARTO/KTR/2018-19/3000-3006 Dated: 14-08-2018 issued notice to the owner for Suspension/ Cancellation of Ro te Permit. ARTO in his notice stated that the act was a serious violation of Motor Vehicle Act/ Rules which invites serious penalties. "You are directed to explain your position within a period of 07 days, from the date of issuance of this notice, as to why the Route Permit of your vehicle may not be suspended/cancelled, failing which the route permit of the said vehicle will be suspended/cancelled without any further notice" the notice read. ARTO said that this was a serious offense and such lapses on part of the vehicles cannot be ignored. "Safety of the passengers is the first priority and action would be taken against the vehicle owners as per provisions of law" he added. |
