Early TImes Report JAMMU, Aug 23: Kissan Sabha held one day convention at Sachara in Tehsil Billawar. A large number of farmers from Billawar and Lohai-Malhar Tehsils participated. Various issues causing concern in the area were raised by the participants. State President of Kissan Sabha, Hari Chand Jalmeria was the chief guest in the convention while Chuni Lal Mistri presided over. Jalmeria in his address expressed grave concern over the bad condition of the roads linking Macchedi, Badnota, Malhar, Mmarhoon, Kurhetar areas. He also expressed grave concern over the shortage of doctors in the Sub-District Hospital Billawar and other hospitals and dispensaries, shortage of teachers in the government schools in far off rural areas and denial of district status to Billawar. Others who addressed the convention included Krishan Gopal, Vinod Reothia, Hukam Chand Jalmeria, Kushi Ram Ex Sarpanch Macchedi, Shamsher Singh, Waryam Singh, Arvind Singh Jalmeria, Angrez Singh. Later, the convention passed a resolution demanding creation of Billawar district without further wastage of time, improving the condition of Billawar to interior roads particularly of hilly areas besides all rural area roads besides raising several other issues. |
