| Notorious criminal held with country made pistol, live round | | |

Jammu, Aug 23: With the arrest of notorious criminal with country made pistol (Desi Katta) and one live round, Gandhi Nagar Police today claimed to have foiled murder plot.
Police spokesman said that today a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station raised a naka at Shamshan Ghat Chowk Shastri Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles and intercepted a person who during questioning disclosed his name as Iqbal Singh alias Rinku of Govindpura Chatha Jammu.
"On checking/ frisking one Desi Katta along with one live cartridge recovered from his possession", said police spokesman adding that with this arrest, Gandhi Nagar police foiled a murder plot.
Accordingly a case under FIR No. 191/2018 under section 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia-SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by ASI Shesh Pal of Gandhi Nagar police station under the supervision of SDPO City South Davinder Singh, incharge SP City South-Vinay Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
