SIE Jammu concludes 5 day workshop

JAMMU, Aug 31: A five day workshop on Post NAS Activities and Demonstration of Science and Mathematics Kits sponsored by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K organised by SIE Jammu concluded.
The workshop was inaugurated by worthy State Project Director Samagra Shiksha J&K Mr Tufail Mattoo in presence on Director School Education Jammu Rakesh Kumar Srangal under the overall supervision of JK Sudan Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal, SIE Jammu wherein all Chief Education Officers , Principal DIETs and Zonal Education Officers of Jammu Division participated on first day followed by Principals of Higher Secondary Schools on 28 and 29 of August 2018 and Master Trainers in Science & Mathematics Subjects on the concluding days of 30th and 31st of August 2018.
The main objective of the workshop was to discuss about findings of NAS National Achievement Survey viz-a-viz performance of students of Jammu and Kashmir and to brainstorm and think upon the pedagogical interventions to improve the overall teaching learning scenario of the state.
It is pertinent to mention that the National Achievement Survey 2017 has been conducted in terms of Learning Outcomes rather than content and is different from earlier surveys in the sense that NCERT New Delhi under the aegis of MHRD GOI is planning post NAS intervention to improve the education system throughout the country especially at Elementary Level.
