8/31/2018 10:49:17 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, Aug 31: District Police Office Rajouri has ordered an inquiry into the incident in Kotranka town of the district.
Details of this incident are that during Friday's bandh, soon after Supreme Court deferred hearing in the case of Article 35-A till January 2019, a group of boys from Kotranka town decided to open the shops and to end the bandh while another group of boys was of the view that shops should be opened after the Friday prayers. This led to a confrontation and two youth leaders from both the groups came face to face and started to thrash each other.
A police team headed by SHO Kandi Manzoor Kohli was present nearby and soon after receiving information cops rushed to the spot and intervened in the scuffle. But some of the youths confronted with SHO Kandi and then used un-parliamentary language against police and these youths even tried to push aside the SHO Kandi and started to instigate people present there which could have disturbed the peaceful atmosphere.
In order to keep situation fully under control and to foil the attempt of the youths to instigate people, cops resorted to minor use of force. Later some youths assembled outside police station Kandi and raised slogans and staged protest against police.
To pacify the whole matter, DySP Operations Rajouri, Sukhdev Singh was sent to the spot and he, along with civil administration officers, held meeting with protesting people. SSP Rajouri has ordered an inquiry into this matter and probe in the whole incident will be conducted by a Gazetted rank officer. Police has also taken cognizance of this case under relevant sections into the incident.
