Terrorists free all 11 relatives of J&K cops, abducted in revenge for police action against their kin | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 31: The terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir have released all 11 relatives of policemen who were abducted in revenge for action against the kin of ultras. As per latest reports, all 11 abducted relatives - two brothers and nine sons - have been released unharmed. This comes hours after the J&K police freed the arrested father of a top Hizbul commander in the Kashmir Valley. A News channel reported that the police, in fact, released several arrested kin of the terrorists operating in the state. Earlier, J&K Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid had said that terrorists had released three abducted relatives of police personnel - two from Kulgam and one from Pulwama. The rest eight were released after the DGP made the announcement. In what was a confirmed development, the state police today released Assadullah Naikoo, the father of Hizbul Mujahideen operational commander Riyaz Naikoo. Assadullah was taken into custody by the police two days ago from Pulwama district. Sources said the arrest had triggered the 'revenge' kidnapping of 11 relatives of policemen in south Kashmir. In fact, Riyaz Naikoo had issued a statement on social media in which he said that they were forced to act against policemen's families as the cops had arrested a non-combatant relative of a terrorist. Henceforth, the terrorists would follow "an eye for an eye policy", the Hizbul commander declared. "Police has compelled us to follow the course of an eye for an eye and an ear for an ear. Policemen are advised in their own interest to give up their jobs or be prepared to face the worst," he said. The 11 relatives were abducted over the last three days - two of them were kidnapped by terrorists earlier today. |
