| Inter-village Volleyball tournament conducted | | |  Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Sept 1: Saheed Major Vinod Kumar Rana, SM, Inter Villages Vollyball Championship was held from August 28 to 30 in which teams of Ten villages of Mendhar Tehsil participated consisting of amateur young players from remote areas , who otherwise wouldn't have got adequate opportunities in sports. This Championship was conducted by local Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the ageis of Counter Insurgency Force ( Romeo). It will revive and propagate the culture of sports and will foster a sportsman spirit. Teams of villages from Mendhar Tehsil to include Chhatral, Salwah, Harni, Naka Muzari, Pathanateer and Mendhar took part in the Championship with great enthusiasm. Team of Salwah Villages and Govt Degree college,Mendhar qualified for the final. Govt Degree College, Mendhar team won the Championship in a strongly contested final match. The audience applauded the efforts of the army and said that it was a treat to watch both the team playing the finals and stressed upon the importance of the team spit. |
