Dogra Front demands constitution of Shrine Board for Machail Mata
9/1/2018 9:41:32 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 1: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta took out a procession in Jammu city in demand for setting up a Shrine Board for Machail Yatra.
Gupta demanded setting up of a board on the lines of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to manage the annual Machail Yatra in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The 43-day yatra commenced on July 25 and so far over 2.20 lakh pilgrims have visited the revered shrine and performed 'darshan' at Chandi Mata Dham in Machail.
The demand by DOGRA FRONT & SHIV SENA comes days after two groups involved in the annual yatra allegedly clashed at the temple to take over management of the shrine."We demand a high-level inquiry into the incident which has hurt the sentiments of the devotees and stress for creation of shrine board on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board", they said.
The rift between the two organisations over the control of annual pilgrimage widened over the last few years. This year one group reportedly stopped the other group led by from placing the holy mace in the form of trident (trishul), which they had taken from Bhadarwah in the form of a procession as per tradition, at the temple.
Ashok Gupta demanded that the forming of Shrine Board for the Machail Yatra will not only end the disputes and the brawling but will also bring in transparency, development, better facilities for the yatries and above all will help in making Machail Yatra and global pilgrimage which will help Jammu in developing a bigger footprint on the tourist Map of the world. The party people who were present at the time of protest were Suresh, Mukesh, Sushma, Raj Kumari, Anita, Sudesh, Ashu, Vikas, Jyoti, Abhishek and various others were present.
