Budhal police foiled protest march 9/1/2018 9:54:36 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Sept 1: Budhal police today foiled a 'protest march to Kotranka' by political / social activists to condemn the lathi charge against peaceful protesters on Friday at Kotranka in support of Article 35-A in which a political-cum-social activist Nadeem Mir along with others was injured. Police have arrested the leading leaders' including Waqar Lone, Farooq Inqalabi, Gulzar Qazi, advocate Yasir Mir, Nain Khan etc and detained them and were released after few hours. Police said according to preliminary investigation it was a physical scuffle between two groups of youth. One group wanted to hold protest after Friday prayers even after Apex Court's postponement of hearing on 35-A till January while other group wanted to open the shops that lead to physical scuffle and the police intervened and used force. Immediately after the incident an inquiry was initiated by Yougal Manhas, SSP which will be conducted by a Gazetted officer. The police said as Manzoor Kohli, SHO along with police force reached the spot to defuse the situation. But some miscreants used un-parliamentary language against the police, pushed aside the SHO and instigated the mob which could have lead to law & order problem. "In order to control the situation & to foil any attempt of the youth to instigate the people, police resorted to minor use of force" said SSP. Police have also taken cognizance of the incident under relevant sections of the law, added SSP. Sukhdev Singh, Deputy SP (Ops) along with police force also reached Kotranka and pacified the protesting youth. On the other hand various political/social leaders including Waqar Lone, Farooq Inqalabi, Gulzar Qazi, advocate Yasir Mir, Nain Khan and others have condemned the police action and demanded action against erring cops/police officials.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
