Protest held at Kishtwar in support of Article 35 A | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Sept 1: The people in Kishtwar held a strong protest in support of Article 35-A and called upon the government of India and Supreme court of India not to ticker with the 60 year old law that guaranteed special privilege to the people of the state. The protestors were lead by Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo at Bus Stand Kishtwar wherein the participants raise the slogans in support of the article 35 A. In his address Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar urge upon the people from all walks of life including the members of Hindu community to support the Article 35 A which is the identity of the every individual of the state, beside also called for maintaining of peace, communal harmony and brotherhood. He also refuted the allegations of some individuals with regards to harassment of Machail Matta Yatries added that some nefarious design elements are trying to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere in the District Kishtwar through false propaganda. Speaking to "Early Times" Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar justified the use of mosques for spreading a mobilizing of public support for the article 35 A. He said that the mosques plays key role since prophet hood days which was followed by the community to mobilize the mass support during freedom struggle of India. He said the BJP leader who questions the use of mosques over the issue has no knowledge about the importance of mosques in the society. He said that the issue pertains to welfare of the society added that Article 35 A pertains to welfare for every individual including Hindu, Muslim, Sikhs, Buddhist, Christens living in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that they will continue to aware the people on this issue in coming days as well. Earlier like in other parts of the state, Kishtwar and Doda District also witnessed complete shutdown over the issue of Article 35 A on 2nd consecutive day today. The band remains peaceful as shops, business establishments, schools from both the communities remains close. On the request of Immam Jamia Masjid, today the youths did not erect the barricades all along the Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway for smooth transportation of Machail Matta Yatra. In the morning some people assembled in old Kishtwar town and held strong protest against NHPC employees who passes derogatory remarks against Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar yesterday. The angry protestors lead by Wasil Doolwal demanded action against the said NHPC employees by booking him under Public Safety Act. He said that members of the community are not ready to listen any adverse and derogatory remarks against the religious head. Elaborated security arrangements were put in place to thwart any untoward incident. |
