'War-like store' recovered
3 militants killed in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, Sept 1: Army on Saturday said that it killed three militants in a gunfight in Behak Chanadaji area of this north Kashmir district.
Srinagar-based defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia told Early Times that intense searches were conducted during the operation which concluded on Saturday with the killing of three militants.
"Weapons and other war like stores have been recovered. The operation is over," said Col Kalia.
The identification of slain militants was not known when this report was filed.
Sources said that personnel of 27 RR and 31 RR had launched an operation in the woods of Chaan Daji and Dani Behak of Bandipora a week before.
There was information about the presence of militants in the area, after the whole forest area was cordoned off, where they believed that militants had taken shelter, said sources.
Two army men part of the search party suffered bullet wounds.
Pertinently on August 30, two militants of LeT outfit were killed in an encounter between militants and security forces in Hajin area.
There was specific information about the presence of 2-3 militants in Par Mohalla of Hajin area.
Army soldier that was injured yesterday during gunfight with militants succumbed at army's Srinagar base hospital, another injured jawan said to be stable.
