Three member inquiry committee to probe allegations of child abuse in Rajouri

Rajouri, Sept 7: On the directions of Additional District Magistrate, Education department has initiated an inquiry against the four government teachers following allegations of child abuse and reported striking off the name among them from the school
Gulzar Chaudhary, DEPO Rajouri has constituted a three member committee to probe alleged allegations of child abuse against four teachers of government schools including a headmaster. The inquiry committee members include Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) of Sunderbani and Lower Hathal and headmaster of high school at Chani Parat.
Sources said that Abdul Rehman in Sunderbani sub district had approached the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sher Singh at Rajouri against the erring teachers and demanded action against them.
The teachers have been identified as headmaster and Barkat Ali teacher of high school at Dharoon, Layakat Ali and Daleep Kumar teacher of Primary schools at Thanadpani and Dharoon Patrara respectively.
The complainant alleged that four teachers of three schools including headmaster were involved in the child abuse and reportedly they have also discharged few students for raising the issue with their parents. On September 6 ADM directed the CEO office to initiate inquiry in the complaint.
Gulzar Choudhary, DEPO vide his office order No. CEOR/E-2/18400-02 dated 6/9/2018 has constituted inquiry committee and directed the members to visit the schools, conduct in-depth inquiry and submit the report within seven days.
