Srinagar, Sept 9: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Srinagar organized Coordinators Meeting at IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar Rajbhag premises. The meeting was attended by all the Coordinators and Programme In-charges under the jurisdiction of IGNOU, Regional Centre Srinagar. The participants were from all 12 districts located Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Srinagar, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Sopiyan, Handwara, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kokernag, Kangan, Uttersoo, Beerwaha, Budgam, Kargil, Leh, Badipura Tangmarg, Pattan,Khansahib, Chari sharief,Dhamal Hajipura , Sopore, Hadipura and Tral. In the coordinator meeting Dr M. A. Laskar Regional Director, welcomed all the Coordinators and Programme In-charge and Dr Kamlesh Meena Assistant Regional Director made presentations on the various activities undertaken during academic session 2018. He also informed that IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar has made significant progress during last Six months and for the first time its presence ensured in every Blocks of Kashmir valley and enrolment has crossed 11,000 students in a academic year 2018. At present time there are more than 44000 students pursuing various programmes of IGNOU. Therefore, there was a significant increase in the enrolment during 2018 and the same has increased to during July, session 2018. Regional Centre, Srinagar took several initiatives with the help of its Study Centre to promote Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in the Kashmir region by organizing more than 25 awareness programs through different Higher Education Institutions of valley Sand All India Radio station Srinagar and Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar. |
