Bovine smuggling bid foiled, vehicle seized; 12 bovines rescued

SAMBA, Sept 9: Continuing its Endeavour to thwart the evil designs of the bovine smugglers, District Police Samba foiled a Bovine smuggling bid, rescued 12 bovines and arrested bovine smuggler along with associates.
A Police Party of PS Ghagwal headed by SI Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during routine naka checking at NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing registration no JK02AB/8179 which was coming from Kathua side. The driver on seeing the Police party, accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. But after successful chase by the Police, the truck was intercepted near NHW Ghagwal.
During checking of the vehicle, 12 Bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which was being transported illegally without any permission. The accused driver has been identified as Zaffer Iqbal Age 23 Years resident of Paroadi Tehsil Budal District Rajouri and his associate Ali Mohammad Age 24 Years resident of Kot Chalwal Tehsil Bakori District Rajouri were arrested on spot and all the bovine animals were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No. 117/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
