| Over 5 quintal poppy straw recovered, 2 held | | | Early Time Report
Kathua, Sept 9 : Rajbagh police today claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered over 5 quintal poppy straw from their possession.
Police spokesman said that police team of Police station Rajbagh led by Inspector Devinder Singh based on a tip off tracked poppy straw smuggling and seized one truck bearing registration number JK02V-1596 on a checkpoint in Rajbagh area and recovered 5.35 quintals of Poppy Straw inside the truck coming from Kashmir.
Police arrested the accused driver and his associate namely Mohd Iqbal and Ajay Kumar respectively.
The consignment of poppy straw has been seized in a case under FIR no 217/18 under section 8/15 NDPS Act against both the accused. Further investigation into the case is going on. |
