Jammu, Sept 9: A free eye check up cum treatment camp was conducted by Guru Nanak Dev Netralaya at Gurudwara Sant Pura Dana, Nanak Nagar on Sunday.
The camp was organized in collaboration with I Care Optical with the purpose of increasing awareness among general public regarding regular eye check up especially children and elderly.
Dr.Tanpreet Pal Singh, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Jaipal Singh screened and examined nearly 150 patients for Refractive errors, Cataract, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and Paediatric eye conditions. Free medicines along with spectacles at subsidized rates were provided. Patients requiring speciality examination were referred to main centre at 70/7 Channi Himmat, Jammu. Inspired by Dr.Venkataswamy (founder Aravind Eye Care System Tamil Nadu), Guru Nanak Dev Netralaya will be conducting similar camps at regular intervals with the sole mission to eradicate needless blindness. |
