22 district-wise grievance cells to come up in state | | | Jammu, Sept 10 The Jammu and Kashmir government will soon set up grievance cells in 22 districts of the state. "Sanction is hereby accorded for the constitution of a grievance cell in each district headquarter of the state", commissioner-secretary, general administrative department (GAD), Hilal Ahmed said on Monday. In an official order, Ahmed said the cell shall be headed either by the additional district development commissioner or by the additional deputy commissioner to be nominated by the concerned deputy commissioner with a supporting staff of not more than five officials to be deployed by the deputy commissioner through internal adjustment. He said that the grievance cell shall receive grievances through online portal, post or in person on all working days. "The office of the deputy commissioner will create a dedicated web page for the said purpose and notify the same for information of the public", he said. In the order, Ahmed said the grievance cell shall immediately process each grievance and obtain status and action taken report from the concerned offices within 15 working days, and thereafter intimate the applicant within the next five days about the disposal of the grievance. He said in case of non-cooperation of any of the departments and offices in furnishing the requisite information, the deputy commissioner will bring the matter to the divisional commissioner's notice concerned for immediate intervention. He said that every deputy commissioner shall hear grievances in the district grievance cell at least once a week. In the order, it is said that the deputy commissioner shall hold public darbar at tehsil offices of the district at least once a month.
