Rajouri, Sept 10: One Step Centre (OSC) for Women established at Rajouri under Ministry of Women & Child Development (MW&CD) Government of India organised a awareness camp at Nariniketan complex at Rajouri today. "The camp was organised to aware the inmate girl students/ women about various crimes committed against women/young girls at domestic level, workplaces or at any other location and the preventive/ protective measures and legal entitlements of females in such cases" said Neetu Sharma, OSC coordinator. In-charge Narineketan, Nidhi Sharma, OSC Coordinator Neetu Sharma, OSC Staff and inmates participated in the awareness camp. Women, especially young girls were informed about stringent laws for protection against domestic violence, harassment at workplaces, trafficking, Eve teasing, stalking etc. Speaking on the occasion, Neetu Sharma said the women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse will be facilitated with support and redressal at OSC. "Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting can reached out to OSC for redress. She also informed that emergency response and rescue response, Medicare, legal aid and counselling, psycho-social counselling, assistance to women in lodging FIR and shelter are a few among other services being provided to distressed women at OSC. During this awareness programme, OSC coordinator also talked about the Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) and the participants were asked to put in extra efforts for keeping their surroundings clean and make Swachh Bharat Mission, a success. |
